"Incredible amarone even at this young age. Smooth and elegant berry with wonderful lingering finish. Difficult not to love this wine.”
James Suckling

Tommasi has been producing wine since 1902 and is under the fourth generation of ownership and winemaking. Tommasi is in a continuous effort to grow top quality grapes and only works with vineyards in the most prestigious locations of Italy. The Verona estate is comprised of 195 hectares in the heart of the “Valpolicella Classico” region. “Tommasi has specialized in the production of this “Divine Nectar” for decades, and has deservedly become one of its principal ambassadors to the world.”

This is one of the best and most consistent Amarones you will find anywhere – Vivino users have rated every vintage a 4.2 or better since 1996!

About the wine

All grapes inside this wine are hand-picked and dried for 4 months. It is extremely rare to see this care and quality at such a great price. The Amarone is aged for 3 years, meaning the 2013 vintage is just starting to show its long life. The winemaker writes that the 2013 vintage shows a “warm, ripe scent on the note that is intense and of great refinement. It is a full-bodied wine with lots of cherry notes and plum flavors.”

Complex and beautiful aromas of blackberry, spice and coffee follow through to a full body and silky and polished tannins. Intense fruit is tied into a firm and polished tannin backbone. Beautiful now but better in 2019.
