Back by overwhelming demand!
The latest brainchild of Vivino's favourite winemaker, Mario Ercolino — the man responsible for some of the most stunning wines coming out of Southern Italy. Harvested over four nights when the conditions are just right (hence 'Quattro notti'), this is a selection from the best and oldest of Mario's Negroamaro vineyards in Salento. The result is full of beautifully ripe, intense fruit with a silken texture and a deep richness that is unforgettable!
About the wine
The dry heat of southern Italy results in ripe grapes that have rich, black fruit and spice flavours and these qualities are further enhanced by the fruit being left to dry on the vine. Quattronotti is aromatically intense with aromas of ripe black cherry and blueberry mixed with complex notes of graphite, liquorice and a peppery spice. Upon tasting, the fruit explodes across the palate in a silken wave. Full bodied, opulent and hedonistic, the rounded soft texture is balanced by a fresh acidity that keeps you wanting more. The finish is extremely long and layered with spice and more of that mature, ripe fruit.
