Nothing short of exceptional!
The Cunat Family has made their mark in Napa in more ways than we can explain. With powerhouse winemaking, under the guidance of master winemaker Michael Trujillo, who trained under industry legacies Andre Tchelistcheff and Tony Soter. On top of Michael's expertise, they hired Bruce Regalia, who for many years honed his craft at Duckhorn. We aren't sure the Cunat's could have done any better!
Materra was founded in 2007 with the purchase of a 40-acre estate vineyard (50 acre property) located in the Oak Knoll district directly across from Blackbird's top site. When the Cunat's purchased the property it was planted entirely to Merlot; the vineyard has since been varietally diversified.

"This is a really nice Merlot blend. Appropriately named RightBank as it is very reminiscent of a St. Émilion Bordeaux. Hit it’s stride after 4-5 hours in the decanter. Would buy again, 90 pts." Richard R.

"Think dark cherries, a dash of licorice, spice and a sprinkle of silky tannin"
