About the wine
On volcanic soils in Napa’s warmest appellation, Cabernet Sauvignon thrives under the watchful eyes of the Madrigal team. Famous for their vineyard management experience in iconic vineyards like Duckhorn and Three Palms, their estate vineyards and winery were established in 1994. In the nearly 25 years since, their Cabernet Sauvignon is famous for combining their farming legacy with fantastic, winemaking.
The 2013 Napa Valley bottling combines powerful vineyard sites including exclusive sources on Howell Mountain and Atlas Peak. Mountain appellations lend color and power to the primarily Calistoga fruit that makes up the 2013 bottling, which benefits from one of Napa valley’s most legendary vintages in recent memory. Tiny percentages of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot add complexity and a rich color to this dynamic red which masterfully combines black fruit with decadent baking spice from 21 months in French Oak. After five years in the cellar, this can’t be beat!

"Everything I could ever want in a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Madrigal is a small family owned winery celebrating three generations of winemaking. Their handcrafted approach can be tasted in this thoughtful and precise Cabernet. Deep flavors of currant, cherry, and blackberry cover the palate like silk, while Tahitian vanilla, tobacco leaf, cigar box, and Bergamot tea linger on the finish. Tannins are chewy, and the acidity is mouth watering in the most pleasurable manner.
