When two of the world’s most distinguished producers joined forces the ground shook beneath us. The plan was to create a series of modern styled Italian wines that fed the demand of trophy hunting collectors. Well...they succeeded and topped Ornellaia and Sassicaia in the 2014 vintage!
It has all the bling and all the guts to lay down in the cellar for 5-8 more years but it’s no-holds-barred luscious approachability makes it an absolute pleasure right now! Super Limited... Enjoy!
About the wine
A perfect blend of California gusto with Italian tradition, this Sangiovese blend is a perfect match for any Tuscan wine lover. The second wine from the Luce winery, the Luce della Vite was the first wine from the Montalcino region to blend Sangiovese with Merlot. The lush aromas of black fruit and clove leap from the glass! The strong backbone of Sangiovese is soften by plushy ripe Merlot creating a balanced palate with layers of rich dark fruit along with a dash of spice and pepper. Notes reminiscent of baking spices and cloves tickle the senses. The velvety tannins envelop the mouth with a finish that never seems to end. The hint of smokiness from the oak keeps you coming back for more. Easily ready to be enjoyed today or easily cellared for another 5-7 years.

"This shows so much intensity and complexity from the get-go with a bouquet exploding with blackberries, blackcurrants, ivy, iodine, treacle and forest floor elements. Full body, tight yet generous tannins, effortless acidity and a powerful, long finish. A triumph in a challenging vintage. Better in 2019."
