Wine lovers around the world know Spain's most iconic wines: Pingus and Vega Sicilia. It is Ribera del Duero at its very best. A wine of accessible elegance.

In 1992, ten years after the D.O. Ribera Del Duero saw the light of day, a group of friends bought Bodegas 'La Cepa Alta'. It is a reference to the 'high' trellis pruning system that they used, at the time deviating for the region. It is now a family business that has about 50 hectares in the D.O. own property and also vinifies 10 hectares for local farmers.

The big star is Epifanio García del Pozo: owner, winemaker and the second generation at the helm. As a child of the region and specialized in archeology, he knows how to convert the terroir of Ribera del Duero into some of Spain’s most delicious bottles every year.

A great wine for the price. The nose has oak, blackberry, prune and raisin aromas. The body tastes of toasted walnuts, dark fruits, and hints of pepper. Rounding out with a spicy dry finish.
