The chalky limestone soils of Ribera del Duero don’t make wine-growing easy. Instead, the poorly draining soils force the vines to struggle, eventually yielding grapes that are complex in flavor and intensely colored thanks to long days in the harsh Spanish sun. About the wine
Aged for six months in American oak barriques, the 2015 Emilio Moro is fruit-driven and medium bodied, with touches of licorice, baking spice, and leather on the palate. Acidity from calcium-rich soils of Ribera del Duero make this wine continually refreshing, while moderate tannins round out a long, savory finish. This young wine is a stellar example of Tempranillo at its best, and one to order by the case!
