A blend of heirloom grapes from winemaker Aaron Pott. Aaron selected 21 barrels that were on a different level than the rest. From the storied Del Barba vineyard established in 1900s, Lot 21 is deep and exploding with complexity--smoky Syrah, juicy Zinfandel, and earthy Cabernet Franc--in every sip.
Primarily allocated to Dylan’s Ghost exclusive mailing list, we snapped up as much as we could of this limited release that’s sure to go down in the books as a tribute to California history! Case Buy!
About the wine
Only a handful of barrels of this wine were ever made, but this bottle is more than good winemaking: it’s a blend of grapevines that have survived and flourished since before World War I, the Great Depression, and countless other milestones. Now in its golden years, the Zinfandel and Cabernet Franc this vineyard produces are as complex as its history in California’s breezy Contra Costa AVA.
Tie that history to the shorter, but equally impressive winemaking story of Aaron Pott (whose wines routinely top the charts of critics, sommeliers, and wine lovers worldwide) and Dylan’s Ghost Lot 21 emerges as a red carpet wine before the cork’s even out! Once it is, the wine doesn’t disappoint with rich fruit, intense aromatics and well-integrated tannins.
Lot 21 represents the top parcels of this historic vineyard, so special Pott couldn’t bear to blend it into the rest--Don’t let this be the one that gets away!
