This blend of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (60%), Sangiovese (20%) and Merlot (20%) is initially dried on the vines, with extended ageing on the skins after fermentation to further increase flavour and colour. Heavy, concentrated and intensely sweet-fruited, raspberry coulis combines with dark chocolate and velvety tannins to create an experience akin to liquid raspberry truffle....one case please!
About the wine
The climate here is desert. It rains rarely, but when it does, it comes down by the bucketful! The Coyam vineyard was planted in the late 1960’s The deep root structure --the secret to all the world’s greatest vineyards. --spiders through light sand and gravel seeking out water from the substrata, helping old vines flourish in arid summers. The result is highly concentrated flavors in grapes no bigger than wild blueberries.
