A deep, rich, purple colour coats the glass. Cassis, black cherry, and blackberry are laced with hints of juniper and spice. The strong tannin are thanks to Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). Plushy dark fruit, black plums, and softness are brought to the table by the Merlot (65%). The balance of the blend is made up by Cabernet Franc (20%) gives the spiciness accompanied by red fruit notes. Even with some age on this, there’s still a youthfulness showing through. We encourage you to enjoy today but don’t be shy to tuck away for another few years.
About the wine
The estate has three vineyards; the largest is adjacent to Château Latour, with a smaller plot down the road adjacent to Château Pichon-Lalande. Both of these plots are relatively close to the Gironde; the third plot is further inland, adjacent to Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste. The soil consists mainly of a deep bed of gravel over limestone affording drainage. The total area under vine is 30 hectares (74 acres), with an average vine age of 40 years. Vines are replanted individually, with the varietal mix being approximately 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot.

"Pauillac value star of the vintage.”

"This really grows in the palate and shows a deep tannin structure and richness. Full and powerful. Slightly hollow mid-palate but should fill in nicely."
