An incredible wine!  Unfortunately only few cases of this bold, assertive Brunello that has Vivino users excited.  This broad-shouldered Brunello surprised critics upon release with its depth and cellaring potential.  For lovers of bigger Brunello, this is stylistically in the vein of Casanova di Neri and Poggio Antico.  After six years of aging, that massive core of fruit still remains, but the beginnings of a beautiful evolution are taking place.  Warm spices, brandied cherries, cedar and even a touch of fennel salami turn this into a powerful appetite enhancer.  Decant and enjoy, or cellar for another 3-5 years.

About the wine

Casisano kept production small and mostly distributed within Italy, keeping their international profile modest and their prices much lower than their neighbors.  Well, that may soon be changing – the label has seen year over year ratings that are changing the way they think.  The timing is right to snag the wine that prompted the price hike and not the wines that will benefit from it…!

"Absolutely loved this!"

93 pts, James Suckling

"This is rich and velvety with a beautiful softness and richness. Full body, round textured. Delicious finish. Excellent wine from the Tommasi family of the Veneto."

92 pts, Wine Spectator

"A vegetal aroma gives way to cherry and leafy underbrush notes in this vibrant red. Firm and chalky in texture, picking up leather and tobacco accents on the finish. Best from 2019 through 2032. 600 cases imported."
