Named for the massive stretch of land that once covered Napa Valley, Carne Humana wines take drinkers back in time with rustic charm and knockout flavor that simply can’t be beat--especially for this price. Winemaker Joe Wagner brings four generations of experience in Napa to the game, sourcing this insane blend from six legendary Napa vineyards, which nearly all existed in the original Rancho Carne Humana.
A field blend of hearty red varieties including Zinfandel, Syrah, Charbono, and Petite Sirah, Carne Humana’s namesake red benefits from Napa’s best vintage in recent memory. The picture perfect 2014 season is highlighted in this full-bodied jewel, with deep concentration and incredible fruit flavors. Unlike its peers, Carne Humana co-ferments the varieties instead of blending them post-fermentation for unmatched integration and deep color. Aged for 18 months in French oak, Carne Humana has the depth and complexity of a high-end Cabernet, but the edgy, tannins of a cult Syrah.
