About the wine

If you love Barolo, do not miss this one! Winemaker, Maurizio Delpero has managed to capture the true magic of Barolo and luckily for us, at a steal of a deal!

Sergio Gomba and his young family, purchased a small farmhouse in Barolo back in 1991. In a short span, Sergio has turned his original single vineyard into twenty hectares today, along with other vineyards in Roero, Piobesi, and Santa Vittoria. With a total product of roughly 200,000 bottles per year, the estate is small but truly dedicated to quality.

The 2014 Boschetti Gomba Jlsorj Barolo is absolutely welcoming. The vineyard is located on the top of the Boschetti hill, overlooking the village of Barolo. With excellent southwest facing plantings, the grapes are able to perfectly ripen. Rich notes of liquorice, spice and dark stewed fruits, this wine is showing well today. We recommend serving in a decanter to really open up the aromas and softer notes this Barolo has to offer

"This has a gorgeous ruby rose color with some hints of amber. Flaunting lots of red fruit character, red flowers, leather, anise, mint, iron and stony mineral on the nose. All backed by blackberry, spice, flowers and ground spice and minerals. Finishing with a delightful acidic palate that cleanses the tongue leaving a savory fruit flavor and mouthwatering for more. The tannins are softening here now but give this a 2-3 years for more a more pleasurable experience.  Pair with Lamb, Goat, Roasted Game Birds, and Pasta with Porcini and Truffles. Fantastic pick up, suggested case buy."
