Bello has been producing wine since 2004 when owner Michael Bello left the construction business to pursue wine and horse racing. The winemaker, Aaron Pott, has a reputation for excellence having worked under Blackbird and Seven Stone as well as his own label, Pott Wine. Aaron was recognized as one of the top winemakers of 2012 by Food & Wine Magazine with his Bordeaux-style winemaking reminiscent of pre-90's Napa.

About the winemaker
Aaron Pott might be wine’s Chosen One. After graduating from UC Davis, he took a Master's at the globally renowned Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France. Immediately he stepped into an assistant winemaker role, apprenticing with American legend John Kongsgaard. After getting to know Bordeaux whiz Michel Rolland, Pott badgered Rolland into introducing him to the Bordelaise. Shortly thereafter, Pott was already running the mythical Troplong-Mondot in Saint Emilion and would eventually return to the States where he took over Quintessa. Not satisfied with having made some of the best wines in two countries, Pott expanded his workload while escalating quality as he learned and learned. At this point, there was little nature could do to deter Pott from crafting legendary wines, which became apparent to the outside world when he created a 99+ point wine in his debut vintage at Seven Stones. Most winemakers toil for decades hoping to create a wine that nears perfection. Pott did it on his first try, and continues to deliver towering wines in the 97+ point range. What will Aaron Pott do next? The wine world waits with baited breath

“This wine has balance, structure, and the perfect amount of oak. Highly recommend!”

"This wine is black as night. Dark fruited, some candied cherry with crushed fresh blackberries, ultra generous on the palate, the tannins are fine yet apparent adding to the strong earthy, meaty structure. This is a seriously fine wine with a glorious future ahead of it. Outstanding!"
This generous wine encompasses the true varietal character and power of Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from prized vineyard sites throughout California. An aromatic lift of fresh cherry, dry thyme and toasted black peppercorn abound from the glass. On the palate, flavors of black cherry and plum compote frame the heart of this wine. Firm tannins, balanced acidity and compelling layers of semi-sweet chocolate and dark roast espresso beans defines the long and layered finish of this wine.
